The W expands education offerings with licensure-focused early childhood program

Mississippi University for Women has announced a new Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education.

The new program will launch in fall 2025 and is designed to prepare students for licensure as pre-K educators.

The program is offered through the W’s school of education and emphasizes classroom management, developmentally appropriate curriculum, and instructional methods tailored to young learners.

Through the W’s Child and Parent Development Center, a laboratory preschool on campus that specializes in early learning and care, students will get hands-on experience before entering the workforce. This also provides them with an opportunity to gain field experience in other settings such as public schools and child care facilities.

Students in the program may choose a licensure or non-licensure path, depending on their career goals.

All program content will be available online to offer students a more flexible and affordable path to their degree.
