The Shed honors workers on Labor Day
The Shed BBQ and Blues Joint has been celebrating Labor Day by giving people a break from cooking and enjoying a free sandwich.
The Shed was packed with people, enjoying live music and a free pulled pork sandwich. Since 2011, with the exception of COVID, the Shed BBQ and Blues Joint has honored the hard-working men and women of the community by inviting them to the Shed to receive a free sandwich.
The Shed is also accepting water donations to help those dealing with the water crisis in Jackson. Co-Owner Brooke Lewis said, “It’s just something to let the community know how much we appreciate their support and how hard they work in their industries and you know it takes all of us to run this place here and so it’s just a way of paying it forward.”
The Shed has prepared about 1,000 pulled pork sandwiches and will be serving them up until they run out. The restaurant is open until 9 p.m.
