The Season for Ice Skating is Here!

Friday night, the Mississippi Coast Coliseum opened its doors for the first night of ice skating.

Starting at 6 p.m., children and adults stormed the ice to glide and weave their way through hours of fun. This year, you can book birthday parties and other fun celebrations at the rink. For Mississippians who are used to the 90 degree summers, the ice skating rink can be a fun change of pace.

Chris Spear of the Mississippi Coast Coliseum says, “The fact that we are the only official ice rink between Baton Rouge and Pensacola means that we give the Coast something unique, something fun, and it’s only $10, so it’s a nice bargain.”

On Sunday, WXXV will be sponsoring skating at 2 and 4:30 p.m. at the Coliseum. There will be free hot chocolate for the first 200 skaters. Tickets are $10, which includes skate rental.
