The Navy Wives Club of America Visits the Coast

The Navy Wives Club of America dropped their anchor here on the Coast this week for their 2015 national convention.
The ladies in the organization were honored by Mayor Billy Hewes and October 19th is officially Navy Wives Club of America Day in the city of Gulfport.
They also visited the Biloxi Cemetery and placed a wreath next to the Navy Seabees monument. The Navy Wives are spending the rest of the week touring the Gulf Coast, wrapping up business meetings and deciding where next year’s convention will take place.
“If it wasn’t for the families, these service men and woman could not do what they do because, although they are across the sea or whatever, we’re the ones at home keeping the home fires burning. They know that we are keeping everything safe while they do their job. They don’t have to worry about us,” said Julie Sharp, president of the Navy Wives Club of America.
The organization’s mission is to support military personnel and families of the United States sea services.
