The Mississippi State Rating Bureau has lowered the fire insurance classification.

The Mississippi State Rating Bureau has lowered the fire insurance classification for the two fire grading districts within Jackson County’s Northwest Volunteer Fire Department: Latimer District dropped from class 8 to 7 and St. Martin District dropped from class 7 to 6. The lower ratings means better fire insurance rates for home and business owners in those districts.
