The Gulfport School District mourns the loss of Gulfport High student

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)-The Gulfport School District is mourning the loss of Gulfport High student Levi Edwards.

In a statement released Tuesday, the school district says they are deeply saddened by the passing of Levi, a tenth grader.

The district says their hearts and deepest condolences are with Levi’s family, loved ones, and friends during this time.

Out of respect for the family’s privacy, the district will not be releasing any further details.

The Gulfport School District community is deeply saddened by the passing of Gulfport High School 10th-grade student Levi Edwards. Our hearts and deepest condolences are with Levi’s family, loved ones, and friends during this heartbreaking time.

Our primary focus is supporting our students, faculty, and staff through this loss. School counselors are available on campus at Gulfport High School for any student or employee who needs support.

Out of respect for the family’s privacy, the district will not be releasing further details. We ask that the media and the public grant the family and our school community space to grieve.
