The Greyhounds kick off football season with community pep rally

The Ocean Springs Greyhounds are kicking off football season and the new school year in style.

The Ocean Springs School District held its first pep rally last night at Greyhound Stadium. The family friendly event was a time for the community to gather and celebrate students. The pep rally featured performances by the high school band, cheerleaders, and student athletes.

Families also enjoyed food trucks, snow cone stands, and spending time with each other. Raffinee Hathorn said, “My son plays on varsity. He’s a senior, number ten, go Kino! So, I am very excited. We have been in the district for all four years of his high school. So, this is a great experience and we love being a Greyhound.”

The Greyhound’s first game of the season will be against Madison Central next Friday.
