The Dance Company brought home several awards from Showstoppers National Finals

The Dance Company of Diamondhead and Long Beach recently attended the Showstopper Finals in Biloxi.

The dancers range in age from six all the way to 18. This was the first time that Biloxi was selected to host one of the national finals.

The Dance Company came home with six first place wins and the senior team was named the American Champion.

The team is led by the director and owner Kim Mahony. “It’s an honor to coach these guys. When you are surrounded by young ladies who love their sport and give 100% all the time, it’s why we opened The Dance Company 28 years. We wanted to make an impact, and that’s the name of our team Impact, it’s ‘Intensive Members Performing As a Christian Team.”

Dancer Riley Rolison said, “This year we really wanted to push ourselves past our limit, we’ve never really gone into competitive before, but I guess there is a first time for everything, so we took a couple of our numbers and we did it in the competitive division and we won, and we’re really proud of ourselves, and we’re just really glad we’ve come this far.”

If you want to catch these girls in action, you can catch them dancing at the Shuckers game next Friday, July 22nd.
