The Arts, Hancock County is officially open

After years of planning, The Arts, Hancock County officially cut the ribbon on their new facility on Blaize Avenue this past weekend.

The Arts, Hancock County mission is to promote, enhance, and support the arts in Hancock County. Their goal is to seek out under-represented populations to integrate art within the community.

The new studio is inclusive of all artists, including visual and performing artists, writers, artisans, and art supporters.

The new facility will allow for a variety of art classes and workshops. Board Member Mamie Hillery said, “We just want to encourage everyone to tap into their creative insides and come and let us help you see what you are good at, see what you like to do. That’s why we are having a variety of classes so everybody can try a little workshop. Just four hours and then see if you want to take our six-week drawing class or something like that.”

Guests can visit The Arts, Hancock County where the Founders Gallery is currently on display. To register for classes call 229-342-4521 or visit hancockarts.org.
