Texas, Oklahoma eye departure from Big 12
The college sports landscape is on the verge of a big change.
It’s a possibility that Texas and Oklahoma could leave the Big 12 for the SEC became much more real today. The two schools released a statement saying they would not renew their grant of media rights contacts with the Big 12 at the end of their current deal.
Both the Longhorns and the Sooners did say they would honor their existing agreements through the 2024-25 academic year.
If Texas and Oklahoma do join the SEC, the conference would have 16 members.
