Temporary Road Relief in Biloxi

For months, residents and business owners have complained about torn up roads in east Biloxi. The construction is part of an ongoing infrastructure project.
Mayor Andrew ‘FoFo’ Gilich has listened and he is seeking immediate action to improve and speed up the construction. Tomorrow, he will ask City Council to authorize $600,000 to temporarily pave Main Street, Division Street, Reynoir Street and Lee Street, along with other areas in Biloxi that desperately need it.
City of Biloxi Public Affairs Manager Vincent Creel said, “What we want to do is go in as quickly as we can and get some paving done in there so the areas can see some relief. We’ve had numerous complaints from residents as well as business owners. In addition to paving in the construction zone, the mayor also wants to see us pave some streets across the city. How much as we going to be able to do? As much as $600,000 will allow us to do.”
During tomorrow’s meeting, Mayor Gilich will also ask the council to reject a bid from Oscar Renda to begin infrastructure construction projects in the area west of I-10 all the way to Point Cadet.
