Teens read to young students at Harrison Central Elementary

Special guests read to students at Harrison Central Elementary this morning as Read across America Week continues.
Over 30 students from West Harrison High, Harrison Central High, and North Gulfport Middle all read Dr. Seuss books to the second and third graders.
The students who volunteered to read tell News 25 this is a great opportunity to set a positive example to the young ones in Harrison County. West Harrison High student Isabelle Smith said, “I got to read to some amazing, wonderful, great kids. They were literally the best kids I have ever met. They were so good and they were so engaged and I absolutely loved it.”
Tomorrow the Shuckers organization is helping the school kick things off with the Hit the Books challenge. Plus Schooner the Seagull will be flying in to pump up the kids during two pep rallies.
