Teenagers charged in armed robbery in St. Martin

Two teenage cousins are charged with armed robbery in St. Martin which sheriff’s investigators believe was an inside job.
Eighteen-year-old Malik Toliver of Biloxi and 19-year-old Kendrick Thompson of Gulfport both made their initial court appearances Thursday afternoon.
Sheriff Mike Ezell says on the night of July 13th, Toliver implied he had a weapon and robbed the two store clerks as they were leaving the Murphy gas station on Washington Avenue in St. Martin. Toliver allegedly took the money drawers and then ran across the street. The sheriff says Thompson was one of the clerks and he set up the robbery.
Toliver turned himself into sheriff’s investigators Wednesday, July 20. Thompson was arrested Thursday morning. They are both in the Jackson County Adult Detention Center on $250,000 bond each.
