Teenagers arrested, charged in drive-by shooting in Gulfport

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)-Two teenagers are in custody after a drive-by shooting in Gulfport.

On March 29th, Gulfport police officers responded to 57th Avenue in reference to a drive-by shooting. Once on scene, officers found a 17-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injury.

Upon further investigation, officers identified the suspects in the shooting as 18-year-old De’Jay May and 18-year-old Robert Taylor Jr.

Gulfport Police located the suspects while they were traveling in a stolen vehicle. The suspects fled the vehicle, but were ultimately taken into custody.

May was charged with two counts of drive-by shooting, one count of felony fleeing, and one count of motor vehicle theft.

Taylor was charged with two counts of drive-by shooting and one count of motor vehicle theft.

May and Taylor were transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center.
