Teen charged in Friday night Gulfport shooting

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)– A 17-year-old male is behind bars after a shooting Friday night in Gulfport.

Police say it happened around 9:13 p.m. at the corner of 28th Street and Hudson Avenue.

A 14-year-old boy was found at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds. He is currently listed in stable condition at an area hospital.

The initial investigation revealed the shooting stemmed from a planned meeting between people to fight over a female.

The 17-year-old is charged with one count of Aggravated Assault, and is being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center on a $250,000 bond.
