Team Kyleigh hosted Toy Drive this weekend

Some honorary members of Team Kyleigh showed out to Advance Auto Parts in Gulfport this weekend to hold a toy drive.

Six-year-old Kyleigh Ward is in need of a heart transplant as she battles heart failure. Kyleigh and her mom Briancca are staying at Texas Children’s Hospital, but Kyleigh’s grandmother and little sister came out to the toy drive to show their support.

Not long ago, Kyleigh told News 25 that she wants a new heart for Christmas. That’s a tall order for her supporters at Advance Auto Parts, but at the very least they have the heart to continue to do their part to support her. Kyleigh’s grandmother Alice Trammel said, “Words can’t explain it. I’m just happy that everybody sees Kyleigh’s smile and it makes you smile, and think of the pain you’re going through and what she’s going through. And we just hope everybody keeps her in your prayers and supports her.”

Kyleigh and her family now wait for doctors to find her a new heart that’s a perfect match.
