Teachers, first responders now eligible for COVID-19 vaccine
Teachers and first responders joined the line to get their COVID vaccinations today.
Today marked the first day teachers and responders were added to the those eligible to get the COVID vaccination throughout the state in Mississippi.
Leaders of the Coast Coliseum tell News 25 the process has been going pretty smoothly since they opened up part of the coliseum grounds for drive-thru COVID vaccinations in Harrison County six weeks ago.
The drive-thru vaccination site also provided ample covering and a streamlined process for those getting their vaccination during today’s rainy weather.
As for teachers and first responders, now is the time to sign up if you haven’t yet. Coast Coliseum Assistant Executive Director Michelle Menningmann said, “All teachers and first responders are able to jump on the state site covidvaccine.umc.edu, and schedule your vaccine. Now you may be scheduling a week or two out, but you are eligible now to schedule that. We welcome that, and we can’t wait to get more shots in arms.”
If you do head to the Coliseum for your COVID vaccination shots please be sure to use gate three off Beauvoir to enter the Coliseum for your scheduled appointment.
