Tax season officially starting the last week of January
As the calendar turns, so does the impending arrival of tax season.
It’s that time of the year when individuals and businesses alike are gearing up to file their returns.
Officially, tax season starts the last week of January.
However, according to Blue Ribbon Tax Services in Gulfport, refund advances is going on right now up to $7,000.
Blue Ribbon Tax Services also says the earliest an individual or business can file electronically is January 23rd.
Office manager Nicole Ray says filing electronically is the fastest way to get your money in your pocket.
“It’s always better to e-file. It’s quicker. You get your refund back in 21 days or less,” said Nicole Ray, the office manager for Blue Ribbon Tax. “But, if you mail it in, you run the risk of it getting lost. The IRS has a lot of mail coming in and so it’s just when they get to it. And four to six weeks is minimum time when you would either get a response or your refund back.”
Blue Ribbon Tax Services also does TSA pre-check, transportation worker identification credential, and hazmat enrollment.
They also say they are the only tax service that takes walk-in customers.
