Taste of Back Bay returns to the Coast

The D’Iberville Chamber of Commerce held their eighth annual Taste of Back Bay this evening to give residents some samples of coastal flavors.

Businesses including Chicken Salad Chick, Olive Garden, Scarlet Pearl, the Fudge Shack, Luxe Pop Ups, and more set up shop as they cooked some of their best samples.

Guests then went around trying each food sample and got to vote for the choice award for best dish and best display.

This is the first time the chamber hosted the event in a couple of years due to COVID and they decided to throw it with a Hawaiian luau theme for a little extra excitement. D’Iberville Chamber President Joyce Johnson said, “We are very excited. Of course, we had the pandemic so we had to sit out a couple of years, but we are back and we are ready for everyone to just come and have a good time. It’s basically to bring the community together, and it’s also an opportunity for people to come out and sample different things that restaurants offer.”

The chamber also was able to award three high school students with $1,000 each in scholarships through the event.
