Tammy Moore hired as Jackson County Community Center Director as Jim Hart retires
The Jackson County Board of Supervisors has hired Tammy Moore as the County’s new Community Center Director.
Jim Hart retired from the position on April 30, after 30 years of service with the County.
They have been working together for the past month to ensure a successful transition despite the shelter-in-place order.
Hart will definitely be missed by all who have worked with him, but he is looking forward to spending more time with his family.
“Tammy brings a wealth of experience to the County,” says County Administrator Brian Fulton. “This, along with her enthusiasm to pursue new opportunities to promote the County’s facilities, and relationships in the community, made her the ideal candidate for this position.”
Moore has an extensive background in marketing, public relations, sales, and event planning. As a Pascagoula native and current resident, she has a passion to serve her community which is demonstrated by her volunteer roles as Kiwanis Club President, Advisory Board Member for Salvation Army, Events Chair for Maritime Museum, and Chairman of Ambassadors for the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce.
“I appreciate and look forward to the opportunity to serve the citizens and visitors of Jackson County,” says Moore. “I have so many wonderful memories of the County Fair and other annual community events, I cannot wait to be more involved in them.”
Moore is a graduate of Live Oak Academy and attended MGCCC and USM. She was the Director of Sales and Marketing for Hilton Garden Inn Pascagoula prior to coming to work for the County.
The Board of Supervisors will recognize Jim Hart for his 30 years of service to the County during their May 4 Board Meeting.
