Taco Fiesta Cook-Off benefiting Hope Haven

Hope Haven’s Children’s Advocacy Center had their second annual Taco Fiesta Cook-Off outside of Dan B’s Bar and Grill restaurant to help raise money for the center.

This is Hope Haven’s largest fundraising event. Chicken, beef, fish, and dessert tacos were served among 15 teams that were competing for the title of ‘the best taco in town.’

This year, the event was dedicated to longtime board member Tommy Hayes, Taco Fiesta was his idea. He passed away in late June.

All funds received helps Hope Haven continue to provide free services to child victims of sexual and physical abuse for as long as needed. Family Advocate Supervisor Debra Foster said, “It’s going to be absolutely tough. They are all so good. They worked really hard and they have specific tacos. So, it’s going to be hard. It’s amazing to see such support for a good cause.”

A trophy and plaques were passed to the winners of the competition.
