Swamp Pop Music Festival hosted ‘pre-party’ for Cruisers in Pass Christian
In an effort to bring more fun family events to Pass Christian, the Harbor Master and Southern Productions worked together to create the inaugural Swamp Pop Music Festival.
The event had multiple bands perform Cajun style zydeco music. While some hit the dance floor, kids were occupied with a mechanical bull and bouncy houses.
Mississippi and Louisiana-based chefs competed in a jambalaya cook-off.
Southern Productions Promoter Brandon Necaise tells News 25 he wanted the Swamp Pop Music Festival to be a pre-party of sorts for Cruisin’ the Coast since there are so many vehicles to see. “Well, you know these cruisers put so much time and so much work and so much money in these cars. Let’s give them more than a week out of the year. Let’s give them two full weekends on the Coast. I wish we could give them all year round and we should, but let’s give them more time to show off their beautiful piece of work they have.”
