Suspects Starts Fires after Vehicle Chase

A man and women did nearly everything they could to avoid authorities this morning.
According to Harrison County Sheriff Troy Peterson, deputies attempted to pull over a pickup truck with no tag. The driver fled the deputy and entered into Stone County with a female passenger. When the vehicle finally came to a stop on a dirt road, both suspects took off on foot.
Sheriff Peterson says the driver, 36-year-old William Robert Young of Perkinston, ran into the woods while the passenger, 24-year-old Casee Swetman, was taken down by a K9 Unit.
Young was later arrested after setting multiple fires to the woods with his lighter. Swetman was taken to Memorial Hospital for injuries from the dog before both were taken to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center.
Swetman faces disorderly conduct and resisting arrest charges. Young faces a felony evasion charge.
