Suspect pleads guilty to deadly after prom shooting in Bay St. Louis
PASS CHRISTIAN, Miss. (WXXV)- A Pass Christian man accused of killing two teens in a 2023 Hancock County mass shooting at an after-prom party pleaded guilty in court this morning.
According to our media partner, the Sun Herald, Cameron Brand entered the plea on two counts of first-degree murder and four counts of aggravated assault.
He now faces the potential of back-to-back life sentences plus a total of up to eight years for the aggravated assault charges.
Hancock High students 16-year-old Haeleigh Stamper and 18-year-old De’Arreis Smith died in the shooting.
Brand admitted in court to firing his gun around 17 times during the course of the shooting.
