Suspect in Pearl River County shooting charged with murder

A woman who allegedly shot her estranged husband outside the Pearl River County courthouse has been charged with murder.
49-year-old Tanya Lindell Saucier was taken into custody by Poplarville Police shortly after the shooting.
She was taken to the Pearl River County jail and charged with murder.
Saucier allegedly shot her estranged husband after a court hearing to resolve a divorce case on Tuesday morning. The shooting happened about 12:15 p.m.
Courthouse employees tried to save the life of James Saucier, but he died of his injuries in front of the courthouse.
Sheriff David Allison and Poplarville Police Chief Chad Dorn recognized the heroic efforts of the citizens of Pearl River County who attempted to save James Saucier’s life while waiting for emergency medical responders to arrive.
Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the case.
