Suspect in New Year’s Day triple homicide in Greene County indicted on capital murder charges

STATE LINE, Miss. (WXXV)- The suspect in the New Year’s Day triple homicide in State Line has been indicted.

Thirty-seven-year-old Drexler Dwight Johnson has been indicted by a Greene County grand jury on three counts of capital murder and one count of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

These allegations in the indictment relate to the January 1, 2025 murders of Lester Campbell, Rhonda Denson, and Dirk Jason Thornton that occurred during a robbery at the Clark’s Exxon gas station in State line.

Johnson’s initial court date will be set soon by the Greene County Circuit Court.
