Suspect in custody after firing shots near Edgewater Mall, leading police on multi-city chase

A suspect is in custody after leading police on a chase across multiple Coast cities Monday afternoon, according to Biloxi police.

38 year old Jermain Gayle has been arrested and charged with discharging a firearm, disorderly conduct, and failure to stop a motor vehicle when officers signal.

It all began around 1:40 PM at the Edgewater Mall in Biloxi when an officer in the area heard shots fired.

As of right now, Biloxi PD says the shots were fired into the air. No injuries have been reported.

The officer identified where the shots were coming from and when they tried to pull Gayle over, he fled down Highway 90 towards Gulfport, and then into Long Beach, leading officers on a chase.

Gayle was eventually captured around the intersection of Spring and Bayou in Long Beach after spike strips were deployed.
