Suspect detained after police chase in D’Iberville

A response to a disturbance led D’Iberville police on a foot chase.
Around 3:30 this afternoon, officials responded to a complaint of a domestic disturbance at Destination Trailer Park off Highway 15. Police then chased the suspect on foot and caught him on Lamey Bridge Road and Road 109.
Witnesses told News 25 they saw the suspect with a baseball bat running from the police and then tried to hop a fence of a resident’s home. Witness Noah Richey said, “We were sitting over here, working on a lawn mower and the dude came running through here and he come and he jumped this fence and then the police come pulling up and he ran around the house and then whenever he got right around here, the police drove up and they tackled him right here. They jumped the fence and tackled him.”
As of now, D’Iberville police have detained the suspect for questioning.
