Suspect charged with aggravated assault, shooting into a dwelling in Jackson County

JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- A Jackson County man is recovering from non-life-threatening gunshot wound following a shooting incident in Vancleave.

According to Jackson County Sheriff John Ledbetter, deputies responded to a home on Burney Road where they found the victim with a gunshot wound to the leg.

The investigation revealed that the shooting occurred after an argument between the victim and a suspect, identified as Don’dre Polk.

Polk was taken into custody and has been charged with one count of aggravated assault and one count of shooting into a dwelling.

During his initial court appearance, bond was denied for Polk.
