Suspect charged on kidnapping, aggravated domestic assault after stand off with Biloxi PD

BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV)-A 19 hour standoff between a man and police at a Biloxi apartment complex has come to an end, and the suspect has been identified.
The suspect has been identified as Joshua Drake Ervin and he was taken into custody around 10 a.m. at the Oasis Apartments on Rodenburg Avenue. Erwin has been charged with kidnapping and aggravated domestic assault.
A pregnant woman inside the apartment was rescued safely before his arrest.
It all began late Thursday afternoon after Erwin was reported as erratic. That’s when the he barricaded himself inside an apartment and the standoff ensued.
SWAT teams from Harrison and Jackson County worked with Biloxi police throughout the night and early this morning at the scene.
A $500,000 bond by was issued by Justice Court Judge Albert Fountain. Ervin was later transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center.
