Suspect arrested in Escatawpa burglary case escapes from deputies, caught again
A burglary suspect who escaped from Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies Tuesday morning is back in custody.
Sheriff John Ledbetter says around 7:30 a.m., deputies responded to a burglary in progress near a storage unit business off Highway 613 in Escatawpa. They caught Jacob Rowan, handcuffed him and he got away from the deputies, running off into the woods. It was later determined that Rowan had permission to be at the residence.
The sheriff says with help from dogs and nearby residents who kept seeing Rowan, they found him in the Graham Road area around 11 a.m.
Rowan is wanted in Mobile County on unknown charges. He also faces a charge of escape and had an outstanding warrant after failing to appear at court on a separate burglary charge.
He is being held with no bond in the Jackson County Adult Detention Center.
