Supporting local shops during Small Business Appreciation Week
It’s Small Business Appreciation Week, a week meant to encourage people to support local shops.
It’s hard for us to pick just one small business, so we chose one that showcases small businesses across the nation.
Hillyer House has been owned by three generations and has been open for 53 years.
After Hurricane Katrina destroyed the original Hillyer House in Pass Christian, they found a home in Ocean Springs.
All of their products are handmade with love from small businesses and sold at this small business.
For Paige Riley, third-generation owner of Hillyer House, her community’s appreciation for her small business is worthwhile. “My favorite thing are the people. The connections that I make either through the artists or through the customers that come through the door. And we love having locals come and we also love our visitors.”
If you’re doing some shopping this week, you may want to show a little appreciation to your local shops.
