Sun & Sand Film Festival Premieres ‘Category 5’

The Sun and Sand Film Festival is still going strong with the world premiere of Category 5, starring film legend, Burt Reynolds, Wednesday at Keesler Air Force Base. Keesler is home to the Hurricane Hunters, and as thanks for the great work that they do with hurricane research, the airmen are being treated to a special "salute the troops" screening.

The film stars Burt Reynolds and features a "perfect storm" scenario that leads to the largest hurricane in human history. This is a subject that Gulf Coast residents know very well, as we still recover from Hurricane Katrina, something that Reynolds was acutely aware of.

Juliet London, ‘Mary’ in Category 5, says, "But I’m really glad to see they’re rebuilding so well and stronger than it was before, and it’s such a beautiful city and just everybody coming together the way they did, and I think with Katrina, everyone automatically associates that with new Orleans, but it really affected Mississippi as well. Mississippi is part of my roots. I’m a southern girl, ya’ know?"

Check out this film and the others that Sun and Sand Film Festival has going on for the rest of the week.
