Sun and Sand Film Festival: June 9th-12th

The countdown is on to the first near summertime Sun and Sand Film and Music Festival.
Moving the festival from the fall to June marks the expansion of the Sun and Sand brand to a year round presence on the Mississippi Coast. The festival includes exhibits, demonstrations and lectures by and for filmmakers, in addition to the public viewing of dozens of films and music concerts.
The festival kicks off at 4 p.m. on Friday at the Grand Theatre in D’Iberville. Festival organizer Wes Benton said, “Saturday at 10 o’clock we have a roundtable discussion about the state of the film industry in Mississippi and particularly the Mississippi Gulf Coast. If you want to come out, we’d love to have anybody come in and sit in. It’s free. It’s open to the public. It’ll take place here at the Grand.”
Film ticket prices are $10 for adults per block and $7 for children, seniors and veterans. All access film passes are $35 for adults and $25 for seniors and veterans.
