Successful 2016 Spring Break Weekend

Biloxi Black Beach Weekend 2016 wrapped up yesterday with what promoters say was one of the most successful weekends in the history of the event.
About 30,000 to 35,000 people enjoyed the gorgeous weather on the Coast this weekend. Organizers say that’s nearly double the amount of spring breakers since last year. The Coast Coliseum says this year’s spring break weekend was the largest hip-hop genre event in the history of the building with over 9,900 tickets sold.
With people from all over the nation visiting our beach, promoters say the spring break event was sure to make a big economic impact on the Coast. “We had a lot of people down from out of town, a lot of people from Florida, Alabama, even as far as Wisconsin and Tennessee. We did about 35,000 to 40,000 give or take. I know a lot of the businesses did excellently and we’re looking forward to doing it again next year,” said Biloxi Black Spring Break Promotions Manager Derrian Burns. Biloxi Black Spring Break Organizer Maurice Bryant said, “I think it was just a great weekend, we didn’t have any major problems so we’ll do it again.”
Plans are already in the works for next year’s spring break weekend. Promoters say they look forward to bringing even more tourists to the Coast in 2017.
