Substitute teacher dismissed from school district

A substitute teacher at Ocean Springs Middle School is under investigation.

A social media post said the substitute teacher — who was in a long-term position while another teacher was on extended leave — allegedly asked students to friend him on SnapChat — and his account had videos of him with inappropriate sexual videos.

He also allegedly invited female students to cuddle with him.

Trey Brennan, spokesman for Ocean Springs School District, said only that the substitute teacher no longer had access to any schools in the district and that local authorities are investigating the incident.

“Due to the nature of the investigation, OSSD has no further comment at this time,” Brennan said. The superintendent also had no comment.

Ocean Springs Police Capt. Ryan LeMaire told WXXV that the department is running an investigation with the police department from Ocean Springs School District. He could not elaborate on what the investigation was about.

WXXV does not identify persons who have not been charged with a crime.
