Stuff the Truck school supply drive

Summer is almost over and it is about time for students to start hitting the books again.

Every year students and teachers are in need of more school supplies. This is why Mosaic Church in Ocean Springs has stepped up to the plate to host a Stuff the Truck school supply drive. The church is accepting donations of anything from erasers, pens, pencils, or even cleaning supplies.

The drive will end this weekend as church officials load up all the donations and drop them off at Jackson County schools. Pastor Jacob Dickerson said, “We do it because 23 percent of kids in Jackson County live at or below the poverty line and so when we hear those things as a church we just want to be a people that meets those needs. So, we ask our people every year to go out and buy simple things like backpacks and crayons, pencils, and stuff that really goes a long way for our kiddos.”

Donations can be dropped off a Mosaic Church or Ocean Springs Lumber.
