Students walk the stage at the MGCCC Adult Education Graduation Ceremony

MGCCC graduated more than 100 students during their adult education commencement.

These students took adult education classes to achieve their high school equivalency or G.E.D. Students also earn a ‘National Career Ready Certificate,’ ‘Smart Start Certificate,’ and explore career technical education and workforce training options.

News 25 spoke to a student who recommends MGCCC to others and plans to take more courses. MGCCC Graduate Torie Rutherford said, “It’s special because not many people in my family have graduated. So, it’s new. I came to the programs that they had at MGCCC and they had a youth program that I got into and they’ve helped me get a job. They’ve helped me get my G.E.D. They have been really helpful.”

Tori plans to further her education by studying education or culinary arts.
