Students participate in Hazmat Drill at Gulfport High

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)-Gulfport High School students got to simulate an emergency situation with their hazmat drill earlier today.

For this drill, students simulated a gas leak.

This experience saw collaborations from students in multiple courses like law and public safety, health science, and digital media.

With tasks like identifying and scrubbing down infected patients, students had to make real time decisions, giving them an opportunity to use what they’ve learned in class all year in the real world.

Gulfport High School wanted to give a special shoutout to the Gulfport Fire Department who assisted in making this simulation happen for the students.
