Students get ready for Fundraiser

Gulfport High School students are asking the community for support in helping out a classmate diagnosed with leukemia.
Hoping to fill all the cafeteria seats tomorrow night, a spaghetti dinner will benefit Gulfport High School freshman Donny Faerber. Shortly after Donny was diagnosed, his father was badly injured and can’t work. Students were getting everything ready for the dinner this afternoon. One student putting on the event tells News 25 she thought the dinner is a great idea because of how much Donny enjoys Italian food. Gulfport junior Joy Heinrich said, “It’s really important when we have somebody that’s struggling like that that we all come together and help him especially because he has limited resources and he doesn’t really have a real sense of family right now and he might feel a little alone. We need to stand behind him.”
The event starts at 5 o’clock. There will be live entertainment, a silent auction and lots of spaghetti. Tickets are $5 at the door.
