Students compete in the Harrison County Spelling Bee Qualifier
North Woolmarket Elementary and Middle School hosted the Harrison County Spelling Bee Qualifier Thursday night.
Thirty-nine young spellers from schools in the Harrison County School District competed in the event. The students who placed top three will now advance to the regional online assessment in February followed by the state competition held at Mississippi College for Women.
Coming in first place for the night is Madelyn Blue of North Woolmarket Elementary. The coolest part, this is her second consecutive win!
Both second and third place are from St. Patrick Catholic High School. Sam Ulku won second while Sonora Ritchie took home third place.
