Students attend Career and Technical Education event at MGCCC
More than 400 high school students attended the Experience CTE for the 21st Century event on the MGCCC Harrison County campus.
At the event, students learned about the more than 50 careers and technical education programs the college offers in a one and two year format. These CTE programs provide students the opportunity to enter a career sooner and find high-paying, in-demand jobs. Dean of Enrollment and Registrar Dr. Kady Pietz said, “We are proud to showcase our programs and our various locations. We have ten locations at MGCCC and we offer different programming at each location. So, that’s what today is about, making sure our students have access to that information and our programs.”
MGCCC President Dr. Mary Graham said, “There are so many different things that they can learn about. Everything from physical therapy assistant to welding to cyber security. So, you know, there are just a plethora of opportunities.”
Career and Technical programs at MGCCC lead to an associate of applied science degree and are transferrable to a university.
