Student brings BB gun on school bus

A Bel-Aire Elementary student brought an unloaded BB gun on the school bus this morning.

According to Harrison County School District, other students immediately reported it once they arrived at school when they saw the BB gun on the bus.

The assistant principal searched the student’s backpack and confiscated the gun before the student went to class. Officials say there were no pellets and there were no threats to students.

The child will be disciplined based on the school’s handbook.
