Student Accused of Hate Crime Disciplined

A lawyer for the Stone County School District says the student accused of putting a noose around the neck of a black football player has been disciplined.
Attorney Sean Courtney says the incident happened on October 13th and the student was disciplined “in accordance with district policies,” not naming the student or punishment, citing privacy rules.
Meantime John Feaster, the first-year head coach for the Stone Tomcats, told ESPN the incident happened inside the football locker room as players were getting ready for practice and that the student responsible has since been removed from the team.
The NAACP is set to meet with the FBI today in regards to a potential federal investigation into the incident NAACP leaders are calling a hate crime.
