Structure fire in Gulfport

This morning around 4:30 Gulfport firefighters began fighting flames on a structure on Indiana Avenue that took them hours to contain.

According to a Gulfport Fire Department official, no one was inside the structure at the time of the fire.

A man who lives down the road from the building told News 25 that many times people go into the old abandoned building and start fires for warmth.

There is no official word on what started the fire.
