Strong to severe storms may be possible this weekend

Tonight: Areas of dense fog will be possible tonight into tomorrow morning, under cloudy skies, with a 20% chance of isolated storms. Winds will be from the southeast at 10 to 20 mph, with lows in the middle 60s.

Saturday: Rain chances increase throughout the day, with highs in the middle 70s. There is a slight risk for severe weather for our area, and a moderate risk to the west. Storms are expected to develop ahead of the cold front Saturday afternoon/evening, with a few tornadoes and damaging straight line winds as the main risk (again the best chance for this will be to the west where the moderate risk is), additionally damaging winds and isolated tornadoes will be possible along the cold front. Please turn your weather radio on and stay tuned to the weather throughout Saturday, especially if you are traveling. Lows only drop into the middle to upper 60s.

Sunday: Scattered showers and storms will still be possible, with highs in the middle 70s and lows in the upper 40s.

Sunshine returns, along with cooler temperatures, for Monday, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
