May is Stroke Awareness Month: Inside Memorial Health System’s Primary Stroke Center

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV) – May is Stroke Awareness Month, bringing awareness to a disease that affects a little less than 800,00 people in the United States every year.

So, what kinds of patients are most susceptible to strokes? And what signs should we look out for?

WXXV News 25’s Jordyn Lassiter took a visit to Memorial Health System’s Primary Stroke Center, which specializes in helping patients manage and recover from strokes, to find the answers.

For stroke survivors on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Memorial Health System offers a support group designed to provide encouragement and connection with others who understand battling life after a stroke.
