Street sweeper flips, blocking roadway in Gulfport

Around 9:45 this morning in Gulfport, an overturned truck brought traffic to a halt at the intersection of O’Neal Road and Briarwood West Drive.

The truck was a street sweeper, bearing City of Gulfport emblems. The sweeper flipped onto its side, damaging a power pole. The driver had to be pulled from the wreckage, but was uninjured.

AMR, Mississippi Power and Gulfport police and fire crews were on the scene until around 11:30 working to clear the road.
