Stove Fire Damages Gulfport Apartment

A fire in Gulfport this morning leaves an apartment with severe damage. The stove in a unit at the Palms Apartment Complex on Three Rivers Road caught fire this morning, quickly spreading.
Fire crews were able to contain the fire within a few minutes, but there is severe fire damage to the kitchen and smoke damage throughout the rest of the apartment.
No one was injured in the blaze.
Fire officials tell News 25 this should serve as a lesson to everyone as to why it is important to keep an eye on what you’re cooking. District Chief Mike Bond said, “This is one reason here. If you’re cooking on a stove, never leave it unattended because it can get away from you quick. It doesn’t take no time for it to spread.”
Due to the quick response of fire crews, the flames were contained to just one apartment without damaging any other units.
