Storm stops business for charter boats in Biloxi

As the winds from the storm continue to blow across the Coast, the rough water is making it dangerous for boats to be out in the Mississippi Sound.
Wind gusts got up to nearly 50 miles per hour at the Small Craft Harbor in Biloxi. Today’s heavy rainfall and winds forced boaters and charter captains out of the waters.
Captain of the Miss Hospitality Charter Boat Kenny Barhanovich tells News 25 he’s been in the fishing business since the 1960s. He says the stormy weather we’re experiencing right now is very out of the ordinary for this time of the year. “You have your good days and your bad days, but we had more bad days than good. I mean, this is, I never seen weather like this in the spring. It’s just too deadly. I mean, you don’t want to be out there in this weather, not unless you’re on a ship. You can’t fish in this kind of weather.”
The Miss Hospitality will stay docked for now, but the captain tells News 25 sometimes a little stormy weather can make for good fishing. The captain plans to return to business if the storm lets up this weekend.
